My first shoot of the year was the Van der Berg family. They are moving to Australia this year and decided to do a family shoot before they go abroad. I had such a fun time shooting this family. I am not a morning person, seriously! But I woke up at 4 o'clock on Monday 20 December 2010, to go and shoot Corne & Lara's trash the dress in CampsBay...and wow, I think I should become a morning person, I also think I should grow my hair and get a wedding dress like Lara's. I am absolutely in love with Lara's dress - she wore it with faboulosity. When I get married (one day...) I wish I can fit into something so elegant and freakishly small, WOW! Lara you are so full of life and fun! I just love it when she takes her bouquet up over her shoulders and Corne was just so sweet, every second he wasn't in the photo, he was taking photos of Lara with his iPhone 4, of course for good reason, his bride was breathtaking. I cannot believe how many images I actually took on Corne & Lara's wedding day. The whole entourage was so much fun we just couldn't stop taking photos. When a photographer asks you to photograph their wedding, it is both an honour and very intriguing, and like a fellow photographer said; "it makes you work extra hard". It was my last wedding for 2010, and it was definitely one to remember! Corne & Lara, from the awesome Corne Lategan Photography, are both South Africans based in Gold Coast, Australia. Apart from their photos being awesome you should see what they do with video, it is out of this world AMAZING, here is one of my favourite videos ever CLP'sVimeo. Because they wanted to share their wedding day with family, they organized it to be in the Western Cape at Palmiet Valley Estate. It was such a stunning day, and the backdrop was phenomenal - as only Cape Town can be. I've spoken to the couple countless times on skype before so that when we met in real-time, it wouldn't be as if we've never met before. Read more
