Before this week is totally over, I would like to post Francois & Janine's Ridiculously Awesome Booth. It was so much fun taking these (as always), except this time I had a lot of bugs on me - it was seriously hectic and by the end of the night I had about a 100 bugs that flew into my blouse (juck). Grand Canyon {Travel}

Before our trip to the United States, Schantel and I wanted to do a roadtrip to the Grand Canyon. I love road trips, most of the time I need to be alone on a trip, because in my family no one ever wants to stop next to the road to take a photo :( We are always in a rush to get to the destination. If I see a great landscape, or something interesting, I want to stop and take a photo of it or even have a coffee at some weird place I would normally never go into. Disneyland & Hangovers!

With all the rush to get my photos of my trip ready for the blog, I accidentally missed placed some really drunk photos of my birthday...seriously, so I'll blog it as soon as I find it :D Anyhooo, the day after my birthday we went to Disney Land in California. Now know this, I'm not a girl who likes dangerous rides where I'm being flipped over and over again. I HATE rides actually, I dont feel in control and frankly that scares the hell out of me. But anyway, I did do some rides at Disney Land...I didn't enjoy them, cause I scream like a girl, and I had a hangover from a drink called Adios Mother....(need I say more). Read more

The Jooste Family

During my time in LA, I stayed with Elsie and her family. I also had the opportunity to second shoot Elsie and her daughters' family session with Schantel from Kiekie Photography (go see the real session photos there). We went to Long Beach, CA to do the session. It was a lot of fun (being a second shooter is not nearly as exhausting as being the main photographer) whilst Schantel was busy shooting the portraits, I got to shoot Marilee and Yolandi running around on the beach! All the girls were fantastic, I unfortunately didn't get a chance to photograph Tanya, but you'll meet her soon enough, on our trip to Grand Canyon & Vegas. Read more

Los Angeles {Travel}

Finally time to blog my trip. February was that time of the year again, for me to go to the States. This year I went to Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, i.e. WPPI in sin city....Las Vegas. But before I got to Vegas, I started my trip in Los Angeles. I have been here before, so unfortunately I did not take as many photos as the previous time (which was not blogged btw). Thomas & Este {I’m Yours}

Before we met, I asked Este to describe herself and Thomas, she said; "I am a high-tea type girl and Tommie is motorcycle, tattoos and paintball crazy..." when you hear something like that you can image what I thought I was going to see when I met them ;) Well it wasn't bad at all, I got these two amazingly cute people to photograph (even with tattoos, Thomas is a really sweet guy), Este told me that for the first couple of visits to her parents house, Thomas whore long sleeves (just to make sure he can come back to visit Este again), now that is really sweet! They have been married for a couple of months and decided to do a couple shoot after the wedding. Its fun to see how relaxed they were. Read more

Can I just say that I might have a fetish for sink...I dont know why, maybe its the colours or maybe its the pattern, but I love taking photos with sink backgrounds...this is perhaps why Gold Reef City should not be my regular shooting grounds - I absolutely freak out when I see sink! Victor & Nadine {Part 2}

Part two of Victor & Nadine's wedding is as stunning as part 1. I just love the photos we took in the woods and of course Nadine's beautiful dress. These two can definitely be models if they wanted too. Remember that Nadine is a graphic designer? Well, she also has some contacts at a steelwork factory. The name tags of the table stationary, are made out of steel, each guest got their very own personalized name tag - even me! Read more

Victor & Nadine {Ever After}

To say that Victor & Nadine's wedding day was magical, would be a total understatement. The venue is set just outside Whiteriver, the place, Jatinga Country Lodge, it has a beautiful ceremony area where you sit at the heart of a little river, with only the sounds of running water and wind blowing through leaves around you. Nadine is only a couple of rooms down from Victor, they both get dressed like they have done this a million times before, they are so ready to get married. Read more
