Kgomotso & Non {I’m Yours}
I’ve been really excited about posting Kgomotso & Nonhlanhla’s engagement session… and for good reason – the love story they have to tell: K & Non, as I like to call them, because I can’t pronounce their names ;), met for the first time at a bus stop on Katherine in Sandton. I perceive them both as shy people, so when I imagine them sitting next to each other at the bus stop I can see them stealing glances at each other while making conversation. They talk for what seems like forever and Kgomotso is reserved about asking what Non’s name is: he’s scared he will scare her off. He tells me in the email that “I wasn’t looking for love” he was rather trying to mend a broken heart. But it turns into a friendship and they start spending more time with each other and one thing leads to another and they fall in {LOVE}.
When they send me an email telling me of each other Non tells me “I love my Kgomotso” and K just thank’s God that He sent Non on his path. Love is beautiful and so evident in their lives.
It was a really fun shoot that we did in the city of Johannesburg. Nolwazi, K and Non’s wedding planner, joined us on the day and helped with the styling and location hunting in Jozi. The more I shoot in the city, the more comfortable I am in it, but apparently I’m being very naïve, because as we were shooting Nolwazi just organized car guards left and right to watch over us. And at one staged they even rushed to the car and told me it was time to go :) It was an exciting day!
