During the festive season I got to photograph 2 families in the Malelane area, the first family is the Malherbe family, I met them through my parents – they are golf buddies – I refrain from playing golf as I don’t have the best temper for it – but the lot of them seem to really enjoy it. Dilly & his wife, Riette, have 3 beautiful children, Nina, Jean & Francois. They live in Somerset but come to the lowveld every chance they get, which explains why, when I arrived for the shoot I got a glass of white wine in hand :) I love hanging out with the family, Nina and her brothers are always giving each other hugs and they talk in the sweetest manner with the utmost respect for each other – definitely something they learnt from Dilly & Riette. It was such a pleasure photographing them, after the shoot my parents and I had dinner with them…it turned into a little bit of a nightmare when I tried to do one of Nina’s yoga moves – I kind of passed out and then threw up in their garden…not my finest moment, but alas a story to tell! LOL!
